The Washington Nationals scored two touchdowns on the Arizona Diamondbacks and in the process won the game by 13 points runs. The Nats scored more runs on Friday than they had in their previous 3-game series. Now if the Nats can repeat that success, they would get back above .500 and clinch a series win. Easier said than done of course.

Washington has Zack Littell on the mound today, and the Diamondbacks go with lefty Eduardo Rodriguez.

After a much-needed day-off on Thursday and just using Paxton Schultz and Cole Henry yesterday, the Nationals “A” bullpen all got to rest. Here is the usage chart for manager Blake Butera‘s bullpen:

The FanGraphs WAR chart is accumulating data. The numbers are getting very large as the season is headed towards the halfway point on June 24. The OAA defense stat is now giving us a picture of what the Nats have — and don’t have.

I said that my goal is to make the Nationals the envy of sport.

To me, that means an organization defined by our relentless pursuit of excellence, strengthened by our connection to each other and fueled by our positive energy. As a result, we become an organization that players and staff are itching to join because they know it’s where they will develop and thrive most; a place that energizes our loyal fans and attracts new ones, and where success is achieved – and sustained – over time.
