In this game, Daylen Lile carried the offense and defense, and Erik Tolman saved the game in Ryan Mattheus style with three outs as he inherited bases loaded in a 6-3 game. Lile smashed two homers for four RBIs and a huge outfield assist. Tolman pitched the 8th and 9th innings and got four strikes and a double play ala Mattheus 2012 NLDS Houdini act.
In this game it was the Marlins with the blown-save-loss. The Nats won this series 3-1 in this wrap-around series.
This was a bullpen game started by Will Dion who got three outs on Marlins running into outs on the bases. He went 3.0 scoreless. Luis Perales pitched the 4th inning and gave up the three runs. Thanks to Tolman, reliever Matt Waldron went 3.0 scoreless innings and exited with no outs and the bases loaded. Tolman relieved Waldron to get the final 6-outs for the save.
In news accountability, Jorbit Vivas was pulled from the game for not running out a popup. That was a long time coming and not the first time Vivas had an issue not hustling.
All in all, a great win.
