Class-A Fredericksburg “FredNats” Nationals

Andry Lara started Game 1 for the FredNats and couldn’t get out of the first inning. He’s still very young and there is no reason for panic, but this season as a whole has not been very productive thus far. A homer from Sammy Infante and RBI hits from Jeremy De La Rosa kept them in the game early, then an RBI double from Leandro Emiliani followed by a walk-off single by Andry Arias completed the comeback. Fredericksburg wins Game 1, 7-6. Jackson Rutledge got the ball for Game 2 and gave up three runs on a pair of doubles in the 3rd inning. Besides that, he wasn’t so bad tonight. The offense went cold, only tallying four hits – two coming from Jacob Young alone. FredNats lose Game 2, 3-1.

High-A Wilmington Blue Rocks

It was an extra-inning pitching duel in Wilmington with Seth Shuman starting for the Blue Rocks. Five pitchers combined to throw the rest of the game, going five seven innings of two-run ball. Yasel Antuna‘s solo homer and Omar Meregildo‘s RBI double were the only two runs scratched across as they lose in 11 inning, 3-2.

Double-A Harrisburg Senators

Cole Henry pitched today for the first time in 16 days and he picked up right where he left off throwing four perfect innings with four strikeouts. To put it simply, he’s good. The Sens pitching staff kept the no hitter alive until the Curve’s 9th inning leadoff hitter roped a single. The trend of post-and-coast continued for the offense. They scored two in the first, then proceeded to be shutout until Brady Lindsly crushed a walk-off homer with one out in the 9th, Sens break their losing streak, 3-2.

Triple-A Rochester Red Wings

Cade Cavalli tossed his best outing of the season going seven shutout innings and only surrendering three baserunners while sitting down six. Matt Cronin made his Triple-A debut and pitched a clean inning with two punchouts. The offense made it a routing of the Mets scoring eight runs on 11 hits. Andrew Stevenson, Joey Meneses, and Jake Noll all had two hits. Wings win big 8-0.

Farm System final notes 🎶

The Nats’ minor league system had quite the night. The pitchers came to play across the farm, a refreshing change from the past few days.

“I said that my goal is to make the Nationals the envy of sport.”

“To me, that means an organization defined by our relentless pursuit of excellence, strengthened by our connection to each other and fueled by our positive energy. As a result, we become an organization that players and staff are itching to join because they know it’s where they will develop and thrive most; a place that energizes our loyal fans and attracts new ones, and where success is achieved – and sustained – over time.”
